Panaji: The Bombay High Court at Goa today dismissed the petition filed by former founder editor of Tehelka Tarun Tejpal seeking postponement of trail in the alleged rape case against him.

Tejpal had moved High Court challenging the order of Additional District and Sessions Court, Mapusa dated October 7, that had set the hearing in the case for three days from October 21 for cross examination of the victim.

The accused had sought hearing dates after December 2 claiming his lawyer is busy in other matter.

High Court, however, dismissed the petition. As such the trial will begin as per schedule next week.

Tejpal is charged under various IPC Sections, including 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 350 (criminal force), 376 (rape) and 354- (A) and (B) (sexually coloured remarks and use of criminal force on woman).
