Panaji: Leading social figures from Christian community has condemned hate speech allegedly given by a Priest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and Goa’s former CM Manohar Parrikar.

Fr Conceicao D’Silva from Raia Church was in the centre of controversy after he indulged in alleged hate speech. Election Commission of India has initiated inquiry into his act.

“Catholic religion is a religion that propagates love and forgiveness. Love thy enemy. Hate campaign by any religion is wrong,” said Auda Viegas, a prominent social activist.

Journalist Savio Rodrigues has tweeted “Fr Conceicao will now play victim. Then some over zealot Christians like we have in all religion will start flaring their nostrils and shooting gas from their arse. Yet no one sees that a true follower of God prays for peace and wellbeing not curse and lie.”
