Gujarat origin man arrested, drugs worth Rs 25 lakh confiscated

Anjuna: Goa Police has arrested a Gujarat native for possessing banned drungs including ketamine and charas worth Rs 25 lakh at the villa in Siolim village, which he had taken on a rent.
A senior police official said that Anjuna Police arrested Jayrajsingh Kiritsinh Chavda (33) from Ahmedabad, Gujarat presently residing at a rented Villa in Chaudi Waddo, Marna, Siolim North Goa.
The official said that a team of Anjuna police raided the villa on Monday, after getting the information about the banned substance. The house was searched under warrant during which police recovered 475 Ketamine vials of total quantity of the 4.7 litres along with 270 grams of Charas.
He said that all drugs is worth Rs 25 lakhs.
“The drugs were immediately seized under the panchanama and taken into custody,” he said.
The accused is booked under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Raiding team consisted of Lpsi Sneha Sawal, PC Ramdas Harmalkar, Arjun Sawant, Sakharam Salgaonkar, PSI Sahil Warang.
Further investigation is in progress with Pi Prashal Dessai of Anjuna PS under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi.
