Group of social activists meet DGP, demand action on group of taxi operators involved in brutal attack

Panaji: Various social activists on Monday met Director General of Police Jaspal Singh demanding that a group of taxi operators be booked for attempt to murder for assaulting another tourist operator with sharp weapons.
Various social activists including Pratima Coutinho, Xancer Polgi, Tara Kerkar and Amisha met the DGP at Police Headquarters in Panaji.
Talking to mediapersons after meeting the DGP, Coutinho said that the DGP was informed that the gang should have been booked under attempt to murder act.
She recalled that the gang had attacked another taxi operator in a broad day light at Azad Maidan, which is less than 20 metres away from the Police Headquarters.
The social activists raised concerns that this group was moving freely in the city after they were booked under some minor sections by Panaji police. Coutinho said that they should be booked for attempt to murder as they had
