Minutes after Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) threatened to strike the work protesting against twin accommodation sharing issue, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has instructed the Collector to rectify the order.

GARD was upset after Collector issued order asking them to share the accommodation.

Informing about the government’s decision to rectify its order, Rane tweeted “with regards to the issue of accommodation of residents posted for COVID-19 duty, I am totally in agreement with the request made by the GARD association. I have already taken up this issue with Hon’ble CM Dr Pramod Sawant, he has assured that necessary instructions will be given to the collector to ensure single bedrooms are provided to the doctors of ESI hospital and South Goa District Hospital.”

“The doctors are working round the clock risking their lives for the people of the state, their demand is totally justified. I am grateful to the Hon’ble CM for agreeing to issue directions to the Collector for rectification in the order with immediate effect.”
