Panaji: The BJP-led NDA alliance in Goa on Friday held a meeting in Panaji, chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and state BJP president Damodar Naik, to review developmental works across constituencies and chalk out a strategy ahead of the Assembly elections due in about eight months.
Addressing reporters after the meeting, Sawant said discussions focused on ongoing and pending development projects in various constituencies, with directions issued to complete them in a time-bound manner and on a “war footing”.
He said MLAs have been asked to actively publicise welfare schemes of both the state and central governments to ensure greater public awareness of initiatives implemented by the BJP-led administration.
The meeting also decided to launch a large-scale plantation drive from June 5 to September 5, under which national and state highways across Goa will be developed as green corridors.
As part of the initiative, around 10 lakh saplings will be planted, with legislators tasked with overseeing the drive in their respective constituencies.
Sawant further said that programmes will be organised to highlight the achievements of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 12 years, aimed at informing citizens about key policies and development initiatives undertaken during this period.
