Panaji: Changing its Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) a bit, Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday said that people who are carrying COVID-19 negative certificate from authorized lab would be allowed to enter the state without testing.

Goa will open its airport for the flight operations from Monday during which 13 planes are scheduled to arrive in the State.

Sawant said that on Monday alone, around 4,000 people including 1,000 air travelers, are expected to come to the state.

Reading out the SOP, Sawant said that those travelers who are carrying COVID-19 negative certificate from ICMR approved lab would be given entry without checking in the state.

“Others will have to get themselves tested by paying Rs 2,000 for COVID-19 infection, while those who don’t want to be tested will have to stay in Home Quarantine for next 14 days,” said the chief minister, addressing a press conference in presence of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.

He said that this SOP will be applicable to all the people those who are coming to the state by flights, roads, water or railways.

Sawant said that the operations of flights and trains have been kept at minimum level in the state.

Claiming that Goa has topped the list of states that managed COVID-19 successfully, Sawant said that all the 47 patients who have tested positive and admitted in ESI hospital will recover in next eight days.

The chief minister said that the state is well equipped to handle fresh cases, if at all, they are detected in the state.

He said that Goa is the only state in the country which has tested all the people who entered the borders for COVID-19 infection.
