Panaji: Congress MLA and Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo has refused to speak about the controversial restaurant allegedly linked to daughter of Union Minister Smriti Irani claiming that he would not comment on it unless he has a documents with him.

“Silly Soul Café and Bar”, a restaurant at Assagao village in North Goa is midst controversy over its Excise Licence. Social worker and activist Aires Rodrigues has also filed complaint before State Town and Country Planning department claiming that the construction housing Café and Bar is illegal.

“I don’t know who is running that restaurant, there is no clarity. TCP has said that they will inspect the premises,” said Lobo on Monday, who represents Calangute Assembly segment.

He said that he will not speak without having documents, otherwise he will get notice (from Irani).

“Whoever speaks should have at least some facts known to him. You require some documents. If you speak without documents you will get notice,” he said adding that several leaders in Delhi and Goa have received notice. “ Her (Irani’s) lawyer issues notice for defaming image of his client,” he said.

When pointed out that his party had taken up the issue in Delhi, Lobo said “let anybody take up the issue. We will wait for the report.”

He said that the Town and Country Planning Department has already said that they will be conducting inspection of the premises. “We will wait for the report,” Lobo added.
