Panaji : Goa Congress General Secretary Janardhan Bhandari opined that Goan people’s voice has forced the government to cancel the Electronic Dance Music festival Sunburn 2020. “Congress Karyakartas who are the representatives of people have shown the ground reality to the govt. We will protest each time the govt. acts against the interest of people and culture of Goa,” Bhandari said. He went to thank the people who took part in this protest directly or indirectly and forced the government to cancel Sunburn thereby putting a halt to further spread of Covid-19 during the EDM festival.
Goa government on Friday withdrew the permission granted to the organizers of Sunburn EDM festival to hold their event at Vagator in the last week of December, 2020. State government had faced criticism after it permitted the festival to be held amidst COVID-19 outbreak.
