Panaji – Chief Minister Pramod Sawant must blacklist the Event Management Agency (EMA) who was awarded the tender of Goa Liberation Day function, for its act of causing serious threat to the safety of the President of India and other dignitaries on the stage as well as various technical glitches observed in execution of work during the programme. The incident has brought shame to Goa even after paying whopping Rs.3.10 crores to the EMA claimed Congress Secretary Amarnath Panjikar.
It is shocking that a blast took place over the stage and glass pieces and some sharp material falling on the stage few minutes after the dignitaries arrived. This incident needs to be probed as the same could have caused threat to life of President of India or other guests said Amarnath Panjikar.
The LCD television sets on stage had gone off when the documentary on history of Goa was shown. None of the dignitaries on the stage could see the documentary claimed Amarnath Panjikar.
It is shocking that the material like Flex and Thermocol was used by the particular EMA for decoration. How Government allowed thos material to be used questioned Amarnath Panjikar.
There was complete corruption in the tender of selection of Event Management Agency for Goa Liberation Day function held yesterday. Congress Party had exposed that one of the top BJP functionery was involved in the said tender who had “fixed” the deal in return of 40 percent commission on the order value. We now understand that the selected agency compromised on the work as they were told to increase the kickback to 60 percent charged GPCC General Secretary.
It is unfortunate that none of the historical monuments, even those directly linked to Goa Liberation Movement were properly illuminated. Lohia Maidan, Kranti Maidan at Ponda, Martys Memorial at Patradevi etc were all in darkness. The EMA had just fixed some ten LED light cans which were not illuminated at all claimed Amarnath Panjikar.
We demand that Government must show guts and make public the details expenditure including the amount paid to Goan Artistes. People of Goa want to know how much share from Rs.3.10 Crore was paid to the artistes said Amarnath Panjikar.
