Goa to host International Purple Fest 2024 : CM

Panaji: Goa government on Monday announced the hosting of International Purple Fest 2024, an event celebrating inclusiveness and empowerment of persons with disabilities.

State chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant in presence of State social welfare minister Subhash Phal Desai announced that the state will host International Purple Fest from January 8-13, 2024.

Addressing the gathering in Panaji held to announce the International Edition of Purple Fest, Sawant said that empowerment of person with disability is not an act of charity but it is matter of human right and social equality.

“By creating an inclusive, accessible and supportive society, we can unlock the potential and talent of the countless individuals who can contribute to the betterment of the community,” he said.

The chief minister said “let’s commit to the cause and work together to build more inclusive world for all.”

Sawant invited people from across the globe to participate in this event.

The chief minister said that the state has been organizing various international events including G-20 meetings successfully.

State social welfare minister Subhash Phal Desai said that the Purple festival embodies the spirit of Goa – vibrant, diverse, and welcoming.

“We are proud to host Purple Fest and embrace the opportunity to advance the cause of inclusivity. We believe that a truly inclusive society is one that recognizes and celebrates the unique strengths and talents of every individual,” he said.
