Goa to be made ‘Garbage-free’ State by 2022- Lobo

Mapusa: Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo today announced that Government is working towards making Goa “garbage free” by 2022.

Lobo, while speaking on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day function at Mapusa town, said that garbage management is one of the top priority of the State government.

“Government is working towards making Goa Garbage Free by 2022 by ensuring effective collection and segregation of waste and proper treatment,” he said.

He informed that work on the Cacora Waste Treatment Plant has already started, and that the Waste Treatment facility at Saligao will be upgraded. He added that the Government will set up Solid Waste Treatment plants at Sonsoddo and the Verna Industrial Estate.
