Panaji: Right from developing solutions for queue management for museums and other tourist spots to Artificial Intelligence based one-stop solution that provides the best travel experience, various Start-Ups are working on the concept of “re-thinking tourism.”
Goa Public Service Commission Chairman Jose Manual Noronha on Friday inaugurated the ‘Goa Tourism Accelerator’ programme jointly initiated by Goa Tourism and Start Up incubator Forum for Incubation Innovation Research and Entrepreneurship (FiiRE) at Don Bosco Campus, Fatorda in South Goa.
In all 13 Start Ups are participating in this program working technological innovations in various areas like waste management, customer experience, new payment solutions, mobility and sustainability, the organizers said.
Addressing the start ups, Noronha said that if tourism has to increase then we should provide tech solutions taking care of environment and waste. “All the waste that we generate should be treated scientifically.
He said that unless we handle the issue of environment and garbage, Goa cannot continue to be, what it is. Noronha also appealed to create solutions to maintain the heritage of the state and the structures.
Fr Kinley D’Cruz, Director of FiiRE, CEO of FiiRE D S Prashant also addressed the gathering. Tushar Sawant, Enterprise Development Manager, FiiRE hosted the function.
