Margao: A police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police and SDPO Margao, Mr. Sidhanth Shirodkar, created legal awareness on cyber crimes at the Konkan Railway Station, Margao, as part of the launch ceremony of Nyaya Yatra. This unique concept was jointly launched by G.R. Kare College of Law, Margao, in association with the South Goa District Legal Services Authority and Konkan Railway Corporation.
Nyaya Yatra, conceptualized by G.R. Kare College of Law, aims to create a legally informed community, enhance justice, and transform lives through legal knowledge.
PSI Mr. Somshekhar Biradar and other policemen interacted with the public gathered at the station, creating awareness about the innovative methods used by cyber criminals to cheat people. During his talk, PSI Biradar educated citizens on how to avoid becoming victims of cyber fraud and emphasized the importance of vigilance against cyber threats.
The launch ceremony was well attended by various dignitaries, including Adv. Sangram Desai, Chairman of the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa; Ms. Sarika Faldessai, Judicial Officer and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority; Adv. Pravin Faldessai, Deputy Solicitor General of India; Mr. Nitin Kunkolienkar, President of Vidya Vikas Mandal; Adv. Pritam Morais, Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of G.R. Kare College of Law; Mr. Sidhanth Shirodkar, DYSP, Salcete; Dr. Maria Goretti Morais, Officiating Principal of the law college; Adv. Prasad Naik, President of the South Goa Advocates Association; and Mr. Ganesh Samant, Senior Regional Traffic Manager of Konkan Railway Corporation.
