Panaji: Goa court on Tuesday issued summons to AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal asking him to remain present on November 29 in connection with the violation of election code of conduct.
Judicial Magistrate First Class, Mapusa has issued summons to Kejriwal under Representation of People’s Act and section 171 (E) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) dealing with bribery asking him to remain present before the court at 10 am.
When contacted, AAP Goa chief Amit Palekar said that they have received summons on Tuesday, a day before the actual appearance before the court.
“We have received summons. It looks like the case was chargesheeted in the year 2018. We don’t know the details of the case,” he said.
Palekar said that he will file appearance before the court on Wednesday. “We will take the documents and then only will take a call whether to challenge the case in higher court,” he said.
