Goa contemplating to ban certain breeds of dogs for adoption:CM

Panaji: Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said that state government is contemplating to ban the adoption of certain breeds of dogs who are ferocious.

Talking on the occasion of world rabies day in Panaji, the chief minister said that there are some breeds of dogs who are very aggressive and they attack people.

He said that these dogs would be banned from adoption. Sawant said that the state government is contemplating to impose a ban on them.

“Such aggressive dogs are adopted as pets and are not even vaccinated by their owners,” Sawant said.

The chief minister appealed all the people to vaccinate their pets.

 Sawant said that stray dogs are cause for at least one vehicle accident per day.

“Every day, at least one or two accident victims are referred to Goa medical college and hospital with head injuries. They meet with the accident due to stray dogs on the road,” the chief minister said.
