Goa CEO says 88 of 97 left-out voters have filed Form 6, applications accepted

Panaji: Amidst the deletion of voters row, the office of Chief Electoral Officer in Goa has clarified that out of 97 voters, 88 have already filed Form 6 and it has been accepted.
The investigation by the Indian Express newspaper had pointed out to the inability of Goa CEO to get back 97 names on the electoral roll, the local office wants to add it back.
The Goa CEO on Thursday has posted the status report of left out 97 cases which shows that 88 have filed Form 6 and their form has been accepted, while three are Portuguese passport holders and six voters are “currently outside India.”
“In respect of the voters who are currently residing outside India, the concerned officials are making efforts to establish and maintain contact with them for further necessary action,” the Goa CEO has written on X handle.
Earlier, the Goa CEO had said that the 97 cars not included in the Final Roll published in February 2026 were separately processed through house-to-house visits by the BLOs for completion of Form 6.
“Many have since been enrolled, while the remaining cases are being processed. It is reiterated that no eligible electoral will be left behind,” the Goa CEO had said in a post on X handle on September 24, after the controversy broke out nationwide about deletion of votes from the voters’ list.
In yet another post on Thursday, the office of the chief electoral officer, Goa has said that in pursuance of the instructions of the Election Commission of India, a special drive for the enrolment of left-out and young newly eligible voters will be undertaken in the state.
“The drive will focus on facilitating the enrolment of left-out eligible citizens as well as young and first-time eligible electors who have not et been included in the electoral roll,” the CEO has said.
It has said that the exercise will be undertaken as a part of the process of continuous updation of electoral rolls through house to house visits of the BLOs.
The Goa CEO has said that the active participation and cooperation of citizens will help ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll and that all eligible citizens are able to exercise their right to vote.
“All eligible citizens are requested to avail themselves of this option and ensure that they are duly enrolled in the electoral roll,” it said.
