Mumbai: Former BJP ally, Goa Forward Party on Friday said that they will interact with the people who are ready to get rid of “anti-people government led by Pramod Sawant” in Goa through Maharashtra like model.

GFP President and former Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai along with two of his party MLAs Vinod Palyekar and Jayesh Salgaonkar on Friday met Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and NCP leader Prafulla Patel in Mumbai.

After the meeting, Sardesai said that his party believes that they will interact with more people who are genuinely interested to get rid of anti-people government led by Pramod Sawant in Goa. “All such people will have to come together,” he said.

Talking about Maharashtra government led by Uddhav Thackrey, Sardesai said it is formed by regionalistic entities, just like us. “Regionalistic entities that fight for the local people,” he said.

“We intend to have such type of experiment being recreated in Goa so that to bring an alternative to anti people government of Dr Pramod Sawant, which is working for itself for their self interest and not for the interest of Goa,” he said.

Referring to the case related to diversion of Mahadayi river by Karnataka filed by his party before National Green Tribunal, Sardesai said “what we have seen in Mahadayi river diversion case which we have filed in the NGT, the failure of Goa government to represent itself is a clear cut message being sent that the people to remain in power are willing to negotiate with the interest of the state and this is harmful for the state.”

“We believe that alternative is required. We have been backstabbed by BJP even after being responsible for formation of the government,” Sardesai said.

“Similar state (situation) was with the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, on that point we have a common ground,” he added.

“We have high respect for sharad pawar who is the magnet behind this maha vikas aghadi , we will work with all of them and we will take this experiment and this model also to goa to take Goa Forward,” Sardesai stated.
