Ponda: AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday visited the ancestral home of his new ally, Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai, in Savaiverem near Ponda on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Kejriwal visited Savaiverem village near Ponda, where the ancestral home of the Sardesai family is located. The GFP chief welcomed Kejriwal at his residence on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Talking to reporters after interacting with members of the Sardesai family, Kejriwal said that he, along with Vijai Sardesai, had launched ‘Goa First’ on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi.
“We have launched it with the blessings of Lord Ganesh. People who are fed up with the BJP-Congress tie-up will get an option in the form of Goa First. It is a credible and loyal option,” he said.
Kejriwal said that it is most important to understand what the people of Goa want.
“We will prepare a plan for the people of Goa and move forward. We will soon discuss seat-sharing arrangements,” he added.
Sardesai told reporters that Monday marked the anniversary of the 2022 defections.
“In front of Lord Ganesh, we have prayed that such defections do not happen again. We are the viable alternative and the first front that will prioritise the welfare of the people,” he said.
The GFP chief said that the socio-political forces of Goa would have a viable alternative.
