Chief Minister Dr, Pramod Sawant attended the Funeral of Freedom Fighter Shri Nagesh Karmali ji who passed away on Thursday, 9th February 2023 at the age of 90.
Chief Minister paid his respects and prayed for the Sadgati of the departed soul of Shri Nagesh Karmali ji, the stalwart of the Konkani Movement.
Late Shri Nagesh Karmali ji was a veteran freedom fighter who fearlessly worked toward creating awareness against the tyrannical Portuguese Reign. As a founder member of the Konkani Bhasha Mandal he continued to advocate for the recognition of Konkani Language post Liberation of Goa. His immense contribution to the Konkani Literature is significantly valuable.
