Panaji: Former Panaji MLA Baban Naik passed away on Sunday, family sources stated.
The 76-year-old former MLA died after suffering heart attack at his residence in the state capital, his family members said.
Naik was Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party MLA between 1972-77. He was also President of Panaji Municipal Council in the year 1975-76.
Condoling his death, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant tweeted “Saddened by the passing away of Shri Baban Naik, former MLA of Panaji. His contribution to public life will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to his family in this hour of distress.”
