In yet another twist to the raging Formalin row, the government has by an order issued stripped the whistle blower Iva Fernandes of her powers as South Goa designated officer in charge of Food Safety administration.
Strongly condemning Health Minister Vishwajit Rane for unduly harassing Iva Fernandes, her Advocate Aires Rodrigues has stated that the devious move by the government was to target an upright officer whose petition before the Goa Human Rights Commission is scheduled to come up for hearing on 8thAugust.
Pointing out to the rank sheer arrogance and vindictive attitude by Vishwajit Rane, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that the Health Minister for his personal monetary gains is compromising with the health and safety of Goans.
Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that the very outrageous and extremely high-handed decision to strip a brave and honest officer Iva Fernandes of her powers has now only exposed the hidden agenda of this government which does not care for the health and well being of Goans.
Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that the nexus of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane with the fish mafia supplying Formalin laced fish is now in the open for all to see.
