Margao: Vijai Sardesai, president of Goa Forward and MLA of Fatorda, on Sunday launched E-Carts in Fatorda and said that ‘Fatorda Model’ will take everyone forward.

We for Fatorda in association with Unnati launched E-Cart in Fatorda to empower womenfolk. MMC chairperson Lyndon Pereira, Usha Sardesai, Vice President of Goa Forward Asma Bi, Tiatrist Prince Jacob, Nimisha Faleiro, and others were present on the occasion.

Sardesai said that it is the responsibility of everyone to keep our places clean. “We also want to focus on keeping our areas clean.” He said.

He said that the concept of E-cart will empower women, who will become self-reliant.

“Griha Aadhar aid of Rs 1500 will not help to take care of the family. We should not be dependent on such schemes, but should focus on becoming self-reliant.” Sardesai said.

He said that around 30 lakhs have been spent on this concept of E-cart to help women. “We will decide on taking this concept forward, once it becomes successful here. Self Help Groups will get opportunities to earn livelihood through this concept.” He said.

“This is an extension of our Fatorda Model. We will further extend it.” He said.

Asma Bi said that Goa Forward intends to empower womenfolk and hence this initiative has been done.

Tiatrist Prince Jacob said that everyone needs to work and contribute to fulfill their dreams. “Vijai Sardesai has helped triatr fraternity to organize Tiatr, however Ravindra Bhavan is creating hurdles by not providing theater. How will we organize tiatr if theaters are not made available.” He questioned.

“we need to teach a lesson to this government, who have taken away our livelihood.” He urged.
