Dr Pradip Sarmokadam calls villagers to understand and conserve biodiversity

Neura: Dr Pradip Sarmokadam, Member Secretary of Goa State Biodiversity Board called upon Villagers to understand the value of the biodiversity in their villages and make efforts to document and conserve it. He was speaking at the prize distribution function of drawing competition on “SAVE BIODIVERSITY” organized by Biodiversity Management Committee of Neura Panchayat on the occasion of the Republic Day of India 2024 for various schools in St Andre constituency.

The competition received a good response from talented students who portrayed their art skills and creativity. The first place was bagged by Master KANHU CHARAN PANDA of Fr. Agnel High School, Pilar, second place by Master SHYAM SAHANI of Fr. Agnel High School, Pilar, third place by AISHWARYA SHIRODKAR of Fr. Agnel Central School, Pilar while Special Consolation Prize was won by KANISHK P. SHIRODKAR of Azmane High School, Neura.He praised BMC of Neura for organizing several activities. Prof Ramrao Wagh speaking as guest of honor called upon the artistes to highlight the problems and challenges faced by villagers and farmers due to damages inflicted upon ecology of the villages. Adv Honorina Araujo, Saarpanch of Neura village thanked the guests and participants for making the event a success. Others who were present at the function were Ms Sunita Naik, Chairperson of Neura BMC, Nithin Sawant( Secretary BMC Neura ), Avelino Fernandes( Member of BMC Neura ), Joel Gonsalves and Aditya Sawant( Panch of V.P. Neura ). Ms Stephanie Gonsalves compered the programme. Also the staff of V.P. Neura were actively involved in this event. The judging was done by upcoming artiste Deepraj Volvoikar hailing from Neura.
