Quipped: Social Welfare Minister, Shri Subhash Phaldessai was felicitated at a special programme organized on the occasion of 131st Birth Anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar jointly by Dr Ambedkar Kriti Manch, Goa and Parwar Samaj at Parwarwada, Balli Quepem.
NRI Commissioner, Adv Narendra Sawaikar; Zilla Panchayat member, Smt Sanjana Velip; Councillor, Quepem Municipal Council, Smt Nandita Prabhudessai Parwar; Panch member, Balli Panchayat; Shri Rajesh Phaldessai; Adv Krishnakant Hegde Dessai, President, Dr Ambedkar Kriti Manch Goa, Shri Vinod Pawar; Shri Ulhas Parwar and others were present on the occasion.
Shri Phaldessai in his address said, the Social Welfare Department is the portfolio through which one can work for the welfare of the society if he performs his duty with honesty and selflessly. He said, Aim of the Government to reach the last citizen can be attained through this Department. I will see that schemes of this Department will benefit the needy and deserving people of the State, he added. He urged everyone to create awareness on the various schemes of the Social Welfare Department so that the deserving people derive benefit from such schemes.
Shri Narendra Sawaikar said, Shri Phaldessai will definitely provide justice to the Ministry. Various issues of the society especially those of the economically weaker sections can be addressed through the Social Welfare Department, he observed and recalled the famous quote of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar “Educate, unite and fight for one’s right”
