Panaji: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today presented a development-oriented budget 2021-2022. The budget has been presented touching all the sections of the society with a vision to make “Swayampurna Goa”, reacted Goa State Industries Association.

In the Budget the Chief Minister has laid emphasis on developing infrastructure such as roads, water, power and also on other sectors such as health, education, tourism etc. We are happy that the Chief Minister has announced approval of construction license through the new integrated software. We hope this online approval of plans will eliminate submission of separate plans for approval to Goa-IDC, Fire Department and Factories & Boilers

As regards industry, we welcome the announcement made by the Chief Minister of allocating Rs. 10 crores to Goa-IDC for the infrastructure in the industrial estates. He has also announced transport for the workers in the industrial estates and residential hostel facility for the workers. A task force is also proposed to rejuvenate the sick and closed units in the industrial estates. The proposal to revise Start-up Policy to include non-IT services is also a welcome step.

GSIA did not expect much budgetary provision for the industries in this Budget, but we expect this Government to support the industries in initiating more administrative reforms to provide Ease of Doing Business in the real sense for which we are ready to work in close collaboration with the Government.
