Panaji – “Der Se Aayi Durust Aayi”. “Better Late Than Never”. Finally the insensitive BJP Government headed by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant was compelled to shed its ego and accept the Opposition demand on adjourning the ongoing assembly session in view of Municipal Elections Code of Conduct said Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.

He was reacting to the decision of the Government to adjourn the ongoing Assembly Session till July 2021.

The Opposition had anticipated on 17th March 2021 that the Elections for the five Municipal Councils will be announced during the ongoing Session of the Goa Legislative Assembly and had urged the Speaker to direct the BJP Government under Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to seek only Vote on Account. But the adamant and insensitive Government did not agree that day said Digambar Kamat.

Today, after State Election Commissioner announced the Municipal Election Schedule, the Code of Conduct came into force. Fortunately, better sense prevailed and otherwise irresponsible BJP Government accepted the recommendations of the Opposition said Digambar Kamat.

It is important in democracy that guidelines of the constitution are followed by each and every citizen. There is a precedance that no major annoucements are made when any Election Code is in force. The assembly session would have given the Government a chance to lure voters with some fresh annoucements said Digambar Kamat.

Although, the Budget is presented in the house, the people of Goa have realised that it is like “Empty Vessel making more Noise”. BJP Government exposed themselves with all the hollow annoucements in the budget Digambar Kamat said.

I am very confident that dreams of building tall towers by pushing Goa and Goans into bankruptcy will never ever be realised said Digambar Kamat.
