Panaji: Fearing arrest former CCP Mayor Surendra Furtado and BJP leader Dattaprasad Naik has moved for anticipatory bail before the District Judge.
Both the leaders are represented by lawyer Swapnil Nasnolkar before the District Court.
The Court has fixed the hearing on the matter for Saturday at 10.30 a.m.
Naik has pointed out that Yograj Parwar, driver of Furtado along with another person has been arrested. The BJP leader has said that he has been supporting Furtado in the CCP election.
He said that both the persons were arrested over the false filed by Flying Squad officer Krishna Ratul.
Both the applicants have made the similar submissions before the Court apprehending their arrest by Panaji police under non bailable sections.
Meanwhile, both the accused who were arrested by Panaji were granted bail. Nasnolkar represented them before the Judge on late Friday night.
