Panaji: State Election Commission is all set to host the election for six municipal councils, the Corporation of City of Panaji, by-elections for a Zilla Panchayat constituency and several panchayat wards on Saturday (tomorrow).
A senior official from SEC said that the elections for the CCP and six municipal councils including Bicholim, Valpoi, Pernem, Cuncolim, Curchorem and Canacona will be held on Saturday.
The by-polls will also be held for Navelim Zilla Panchayat constituency in South Goa and twenty two wards of different village panchayat.
The polling will start at 8 am. The elections are not fought on party line.
The CCP has highest 95 candidates in the fray followed by 68 in Bicholim municipal council and 66 in Cuncolim municipal council.
Total 48 candidates are in fray from Curchorem municipal council, 37 in Pernem, 31 at Canacona and 23 at Valpoi.
