Panaji: Goa State Horticulture Corporation has not submitted their audited account before the State legislative assembly since 2012. Agriculture minister Vijai Sardesai has now said that he would appoint General Manager level officer to look into the accounts and audit them, if at all they are not done so.
“I am not interfering in that. It only comes under my department. If you feel that there is something there is little amiss, I will also appoint officer as general manager of corporation to go through every aspect of the corporation,” Sardesai told reporters today.
He said Horticulture corporation comes under agriculture department but my interference with the corporation is completely nil.
“I have got in the past got complaints of sub standard supply through kiosks of the corporation. Certain times justifiable answers were given which were plausible, many a times they were not plausible,” he added.
“I have even taken action on certain officers. If there is a feeling that horticulture corporation’s accounts need a proper auditing or review then we can have it. I will have to look into it. We can have a post-facto review also,” he said.
