Panaji: Goa Crime Branch arrested two men for running a prostitution racket by constructing the rooms inside a supermarket in Porvorim area near Panaji.
A girl was rescued from the prostitution racket by Crime Branch during the raid on Supermarket on the road connecting Porvorim area to the coastal belt. The raid was conducted on Wednesday (yesterday) at around 5 p.m.
He said that a supermarket was doubling up as a prostitution den wherein owner had constructed rooms inside the main area.
Police arrested Pawan Kumar Pandit (28) and Parshuram Chalwadi (46) under Immoral Trafficking Act for running the prostitution racket.
A senior official said that the Supermarket was set up at the busy street in Porvorim by the accused. The raid was conducted after reliable information about the racket provided to the Crime Branch.
