Goa Governor summons Assembly Session on March 29

Panaji: Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai has summoned two-day-long Assembly session on March 29-30 during which the chief minister will face a confidence motion, new Speaker would be appointed and the Budget would be placed.
As per the press note issued here by the State Information and Publicity Department, the Governor has summoned the Session on March 29 at 11.30 am.
MLA Ganesh Gaonkar has already been appointed as a pro-tem Speaker of the House. A senior official from the State Legislature said that the election for the Speaker would be held on March 29.
The Governor will deliver his customary address to the House on March 29 as this is the first full  session of the Legislative Assembly for the current calendar year, he said.
The official said that newly sworn in chief minister Pramod Sawant will have to pass the confidence motion on the floor of the House during the session.
The presentation of the Budget for the financial year 2022-23 would be held on March 30.
State Legislature Secretary Namrata Ulman on Friday said that there will be no Question Hour for this session.
She said that during the Session there will be discussion on supplementary demands, passing of Bills, Vote on Accounts and passing appropriation Bills.
