Create awareness on plasma donation: CM

Panaji:The Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant underscoring the need to create awareness about plasma donation among covid recovered patients stressed upon providing quality food & providing good hygiene in all covid centers. He also took a report regarding availability of doctors, ambulance, occupancy of beds, disposal of medical waste & security arrangement.

Dr. Sawant held a comprehensive review meeting with the officers incharge of all Covid Care Centres in Goa over video conferencing. Collector North Smt R Menaka (IAS) & Collector South Shri Ajit Roy (IAS) were also present for the meeting.

It was highlighted during the course of the meeting that more than 1000 recovered patients from coronavirus infection are officials of various Goa Government Departments. CM impressed upon the Collectors to coordinate with respective Departments in urging the concerned staff to come forward in donating their plasma.

CM also asked officers to be vigilant & promptly resolve any issue that creates inconvenience to patients, whenever they arise. Both District Collectors also briefed the CM regarding covid management at covid centre in their respective Districts.

Dr Sawant thanked all the officers for their efforts in this fight against pandemic & urged them to put in their best put forward to tide over the current period of crisis.

Officers who were present for the meeting were North Goa – Shri Sandeep Gaude (Calangute Residency); Shri Laxmikant Kuttikar (Sai Girls Hostel); Shri Prasad Vovilkar (Dr Shyam Prasad Mukerjee Stadium); Smt Shama Arondekar (Panjim Residency) & Shri Pravinjay Pandit (Keshav Seva Sadhana Vathadev). Officer from South Goa present were: Shri Shankar Gaonkar MPT hospital; Shri Gaurav Gaonkar (Margao & Colva Residency); Shri Rosario Carvalho (Indoor Stadium Fatorda); Smt Janvi Kalekar (PHC Shiroda); Shri Rajesh Sakhalkar (GEC hostel & Mandovi hostel) and Shri Kaushik Dessai (IIT Goa).
