Panaji: Amidst rising number of COVID-19 cases, State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane is expected  to meet Chief Minister Pramod Sawant during the day on Sunday.

Rane is expected to urge the chief minister for more stringent protocols including mandatory COVID-19 certificates from certified private labs to the fliers who will be arriving in the state on Monday (tomorrow).

On Saturday, the minister had urged the centre to allow anti-body testing at the airport. He had also expressed the necessity of COVID-19 negative certificate for the air passengers to avoid the state from being infected.

The suggestions of Rane were looked at as the only way to keep Goa less infected at the backdrop of a fact that state government has agreed to open the airport for domestic flights.
