Panaji: The COVID-19 positive cases continued skyrocketing in Goa with 3119 persons with the infection reported on Wednesday, recording 31.84 per cent positivity.
As per state Health department, 3119 new infections were reported on Wednesday taking the toll to 197096. Two persons died due to infection during the day, after which the death toll has touched 3539.
The positivity rate hiked from 30.36 percent on Tuesday to 31.84 per cent on Wednesday.
The number of recovered patients in the state rose to 179423 with 1002 of them getting discharged on Wednesday. The number of active cases has peaked to 14134, the official said.
“With 9795 new tests, the total number of tests conducted in the state has gone up to 16,97,558,” he added.
