Coronavirus update: Six travelers under surveillance, of which one kept in isolation: Vishwajit Rane

Panaji: Goa government on Thursday said that there are six travelers under surveillance for suspected coronavirus infection of which one is isolated at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) near here.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, in a statement issued here,  said that total six travelers are under surveillance for suspected coronavirus infection in Goa.

“Of the six, one is isolated at GMCH and other five are asymptomatic and are monitored on daily basis,” he said.

Rane said that the sample of suspected patient admitted at GMCH has been sent to Pune for testing, while reports are awaited.

The minister said that the State has received print material about the coronavirus which has been distributed to peripheral health centres.

He said that the awareness is also created through print media and other mediums.

Rane said that the signages and health help desk has been set up at Goa International Airport from Thursday evening onwards.

State tourism department has issued advisory for corona virus to the hotel industry, he added.
