Panaji: The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) and Goa State Higher Education Council (GSHEC), in collaboration with CSR BOX, implementation partner IBM SkillsBuild, is set to organize Converge 2.0—a transformative initiative aimed at strengthening ties between academia and industry. The event aspires to create a more dynamic and future-ready academic culture by bridging skill gaps and ensuring curriculum alignment with industry requirements.
Event Details:
The inaugural ceremony of Converge 2025 will be held on March 4, 2025, at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula, in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Education Secretary Prasad Lolayekar IAS, Director (DHE) Bhushan Savaikar, Professor (DHE) and Coordinator of Converge Niyan Marchon, along with industry personnel from Akasa Air, Intel, Lenovo, IBM, Infosys, and TCS, among others.
The event will feature:
- Young entrepreneurs
- Innovative startups
- Project displays by students
- Panel discussions with academia and industry experts
The valedictory function will take place on March 13, 2025, at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, featuring the Innovative Business Idea Challenge, supported by the Startup & IT Promotion Cell.
Participation and Objectives:
Converge 2025 will witness the active participation of 40 colleges across Goa, including general and engineering colleges. From March 5 to March 12, various institutions will host their own versions of the Converge event, inviting 150+ expert speakers, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to deliver sessions.
The event aims to foster collaboration between higher education institutions and industry leaders, focusing on:
- Skilling and entrepreneurial talks
- Internships and job placements
- Industry-academia collaborations
- Aligning curriculum with industry demands
Key Highlights:
The initiative seeks to cultivate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, ensuring holistic student development. Through expert talks by reputed industry professionals, 150+ speakers will engage with 15,000+ students across Goa.
