Panaji: Goa police on Thursday filed an FIR against social activist Rama Kankonkar for allegedly making statements against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, including a threat to bury him alive.

The case was registered at Panaji police station (North Goa) following Kankonkar’s statement made on February 19.

Police Inspector Vijaykumar Chodankar filed the complaint against the accused.

According to the complaint, the accused, while addressing a press conference on February 19 at 6:30 PM at Azad Maidan in Panaji, made hateful, derogatory, and threatening remarks against the Chief Minister.

The FIR states that the accused threatened to bury the Chief Minister alive, and such a statement is likely to create or promote enmity among the general public and provoke them against the CM.
