Panaji: All India Congress Seva Dal, Goa unit has decided to hold ‘Mandovi Bachao Andolan’ on October 2, as a mark of protest against government failure to keep the river clean and to shift the off-shore casinos.
Addressing a press conference, All India Congress Seva Dal joint secretary Rakesh Shetty said that on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Goa unit will launch ‘Mandovi Bachao Andolan’, where the members would offer flowers to the security personnel and bouncers of the off shore casinos that are anchored in river mandovi.
He said that the simultaneously, the members will be involved in cleaning the Mandovi river front and ensuring that it is pollution free. “The agitation to save River Mandovi will be intensified in days to come,” he added.
