Ponda: While the Congress party is yet to formally announce its foray into the Ponda by-election, its local leader, Rajesh Verenkar, has made up his mind to contest the poll.
Verenkar had unsuccessfully contested the 2022 Ponda election and stood third after Ravi Naik (BJP) and Dr. Ketan Bhatikar (MGP).
In a conversation with GNH, Verenkar said that the Congress stands a good chance to win the by-election. Verenkar was the first to rule out the idea of getting Ritesh elected unopposed.
He said that there should be elections in the constituency. Verenkar stated that the Congress has been active on the ground with various campaigns and has remained connected to the people.
Watch his detailed interview tonight at 8 PM on GNH.
