Panaji: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Patkar criticised the order by GFDC Chairman Dr Deviya Rane, questioning how many Goan lives must be lost before the BJP stops playing politics with public safety.
In a media statement issued here on Tuesday evening, Patkar questioned, “How Many Goan Lives Must Be Lost Before BJP Stops Playing Politics With Public Safety?”
“Goa continues to mourn the loss of precious lives due to sheer negligence, administrative failure, and the BJP government’s dangerous obsession with publicity over public safety,” he said.
Patkar said that despite the District Magistrate’s clear orders restricting access to high-risk waterfalls during monsoons, BJP MLA and GFDC Chairman Dr. Deviya Rane openly defies the ban to promote monsoon tourism.
“This is not tourism—it is a death trap wrapped in PR,” he added.
