Panaji: State Government has constituted a three-member committee to finalize the private forest report, submitted by the Review Committee.

Joint Secretary Revenue is the chairman of the Committee, while Director of Settlements and Land Records and Deputy Conservator of Forest, South Division, are its members.

The committee has to submit its report within next three months, the final deadline set by the NGT to submit the report on private forest demarcation.

Government had last month rejected the Review Committee report on private forest, as it failed to take into account the objections and comments of the affected parties.

The Review committee had to assess the private forest identified by Sawant and Karapurkar committee.
