Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was trailing against his nearest rival congress candidate Dharmesh Saglani during the first round of counting of Sankhalim assembly constituency.
An election official said that Sawant was trailing by 436 votes against the Congress candidate after the first round of counting.
Sawant is a two time MLA from Sankhalim constituency who was sworn in as the chief minister after the demise of Manohar Parrikar in March 2019.
