CM Distributes Mhaje Ghar Yojana Forms at Mayem and Bicholim

Panaji, October 13, 2025 – Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant emphasized that the distribution of forms under the Mhaje Ghar Scheme represents the government’s historic land and housing reforms. He appealed to the people to avail the benefits of the scheme.

The Chief Minister officially launched the Mhaje Ghar awareness campaign and began form distribution in the Mayem constituency, followed by a ceremony in Bicholim. The scheme, unveiled earlier by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Taleigao, aims to legalize built homes and confer ownership rights to long-standing Goan residents.

The events were organized at V. P. Mayem, Vaiginim, and Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Government Primary School, Bicholim. Distinguished dignitaries in attendance included Sadanand Shet Tanawade, Rajya Sabha member; Premendra Shet, MLA and Chairman of Goa Horticulture Corporation; Vasudeo Gaonkar, Sarpanch, V. P. Mayem and Vaiginim; Dhaku Madkaikar, Chairman, North Goa Zilla Panchayat; Shankar Chodankar and Mahesh Sawant, ZP Members; Ankit Yadav, IAS, Collector North Goa; Nehal Talaunekar, Deputy Collector Bicholim; Shailendra Desai, Mamlatdar; and other officials.

The Chief Minister said the Mhaje Ghar scheme will help reduce conflicts in villages. Forms will soon be available in all panchayats and Deputy Collector offices. He outlined nine types of forms available at the venues and informed that house repair and house separation certificates will be issued within three and seven days, respectively.

Sadanand Shet Tanawade congratulated the Chief Minister, noting that the land revenue reforms will provide security and stability to Goans. Premendra Shet highlighted that the reforms aim to distribute land ownership to benefit farmers, tenants, and marginalized communities.

The Bicholim ceremony was also attended by Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, MLA; Vijayakumar Natekar, Chairperson; Deepa Pal, Deputy Chairperson of Bicholim Municipal Council; Dhaku Madkaikar, Chairman, North Goa Zilla Panchayat; Pradeep Revodkar, ZP Member; and other councillors.
