Miramar: The Corporation of City of Panaji has finally blocked the access to the dangerous footbridge constructed at Miramar.
The bridge has been corroded posing threat to the commuters and students. It was constructed at the cost of Rs 1.5 crore.
A few days ago, the CCP wrote to the Goa Engineering College (GEC) in Farmagudi, Ponda, requesting an inspection and structural stability audit of the corroded foot overbridge opposite Sharda Mandir School on Jack Sequeira Road at Miramar.
The bridge, constructed at acost of Rs 1.25 crore by a Hyderabad-based contractor in 2012, has rarely been used and is now considered a white elephant.
