CBI cracks down infamous Vasco rape case, accused tracked at West Bengal

Vasco: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has cracked down infamous case of a rape on nine-year-old child in a school in Vasco, almost nine years after it was reported.

A nine-year-old girl was raped inside her school washroom in Vasco, almost nine years back. Marathi Daily ‘Tarun Bharat’ has carried a front page report on Sunday claiming that CBI has cracked down the case depending on the sketch of the accused and the fingerprints.

As per the report, the accused is hailing from Murshidabad in West Bengal and had left the state immediately after the incident. The accused has been missing from his home town too.

Goa police had moved an application before Vasco court to shut down the case in the year 2017 after the investigation fetched no results. The parents of the victim had objected to the closure. The Court had ordered CBI to conduct investigation into the case.
