Panaji: Edward de Lima has authored a book named ‘Tales of Socorro’, published by Vikram Publications, Porvorim will yes released at Singbal Book House, opposite Panaji Church, on November 4 at 11 am.
Former chief planner of India and architect Prof Edgar Ribeiro will be the chief guest and Dr Meenacshi Martins, psychiatrist and actor as well as Sanjeev Sardesai, heritage promoter are the guests of honour.
The book ‘Tales of Socorro’ is basically a compilation of 20 short stories of people who lived in Socorro who lived 50 to 50 years ago. The book is edited by Dr Ashok K Joshi, former professor and head, Department of English, Goa University. The book will be available at Singbal Book House and Pauline Media centre Panaji; Golden Heart Emporium and the Lighthouse Margao. The author and publishers are not able to invite well-wishers and friends due to Pandemic restrictions.
