A constituency can be developed in a better way if you are backed by a Party’s Support. I have served my constituency as an Independent for two terms and whatever development was possible, I have delivered in those 10 years. But for overall development of a constituency I decided to join BJP, A party with a double engine of development, Said BJP’s Porvorim candidate shri. Rohan Khaunte after filing his nomination today.
Shri. Khaunte filed his nomination papers before Bardez taluka returning officer shri. Chandrakant shetkar. After he filed nomination he was surrounded by local press where he reacted about his decision to join BJP. If an election is fought on party lines there are more chances to develop a constituency in a better way. As an independent you have certain limitations he added.
Before filing his nomination papers shri. Khaunte visited some main temples in his constituency and seek blessings of deities. Thereafter he also visited Bodgeshwar temple at Mapusa and took blessings from Rakhandar.
Presently I am focusing on door to door campaigning and to my surprise I am gathering overwhelming response from my voters he said. my progress card as an independent MLA and also as a minister is before the voters. So they will decide right choice even this time. I am not worried about a candidate campaigning in Porvorim as an independent, he reacted when asked about decision of former minister shri. Dayanand Narvekar to fight from that constituency. This is democracy and in democracy anyone can fight elections he said.
Politics is not my business. For me its social service. Overall development of Porvorim is my dream and we will take our Goa forward in right direction, Khaunte said. when asked for reaction about former BJP minister who is now in congress and campaigning congress party candidate he said congress was in urgent need of an experienced Garbage management minister to clean party, he has been sent there. My focus is on my work and not on what others do he clarified.
