BJP’s health camp for women receives good response

Margao: The health camp organised for women’s by the BJP Medical cell recieved overwhelming response in Margao. With a vision ‘health at your doorstep’, the Cell has decided to hold similar health camps across all villages and cities.

The cell has also decided to hold awareness camps on COVID vaccine across State to encourage people to come forward and get vaccinated.

Damodar temple hall housing board, provided free tests for Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test, random blood sugar test among others. Besides the regular tests, they are also given free consultations and free medicines.

Speaking at the inaugural, BJP vice president Damodar Naik urged women to come forward and take benefit of the camp, which is focused to ensure health care for all.

Naik said that the BJP medical cell will be holding camps across all villages and cities, extending support to State governments initiative of Health for All.

In his speech, he also appealed people not to fall prey to opposition propaganda on COVID vaccine. He said that it is important that everyone gets vaccinated to curb further spread of coronavirus.

During the launch, Naik also announced names of BJP backed candidates for the coming Margao Municipal election- Babita Naik (ward 25), Sunita Paradkar (ward 24), Suganda Bandekar (23) and Sadanand Naik (ward 6).

Well known oncologist Dr Shekhar Salkar ,Dr Amey Velingkar , Dr Sneha Bhagwat and Mrs Ranjita Pai were also present.

The medical camp is open for all women’s across State from 9.00am onwards.

Dr Amey Velingkar ( Orthopaedic surgeon) and Dr Sneha Bhagwat ( Women health specialist) will provide free consultations.

Earlier speaking, Dr Shekhar Salkar said that medical teams need to reach out to people creating awareness on effectiveness and safety of vaccine.

He said that a strong message needs to be sent that vaccine is safe. He Informed that in India total 1.09 crore people are vaccinated so far, while in Goa the number is 15,000.

There are chances some may have some allergy, or fever, but that is normal, he said.

Doctor said that children below 18 years, pregnant women, those trying for baby, breastfeeding women are warned against taking vaccine.

Pointing to increasing number of Covid cases in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Doctor said that Goa needs to be alert and take all precautions and people also need to take vaccine for their own safety.
