Sankhalim: BJP Goa Chief Sadanand Tanavade said that the party will win both the Zilla Panchayat elections in North and South Goa, with comfortable majority.

“I would not go into the numbers. But we will win both the ZP segments with comfortable majority,” Tanavade told reporters in Sankhalim after unveiling the manifesto of Pale constituency candidate Gopal Surlakar in presence of Chief minister Pramod Sawant.

Tanavade said that in constituencies like that represented by Sawant, the party has an added advantage as people are happy with the performance of their local MLAs.

He ruled out that anti-incumbency would be a factor for this election. “You cannot compare between Assembly and ZP polls. There is no anti-incumbency factor also because we have given several new faces,” the BJP leader said.

“The party workers are energized. We will be able to win with a good margin,” he said.

Tanavade said that the party has managed to control marginal rebellion which was faced during distribution of tickets.

“ There are several workers who feel that they should get ticket but we can’t give it to everyone. That is why they were upset. But we have managed to convinced almost all of them, except at couple of places,” he said.

Tanavade also said that those who have rebelled have resigned from the party.
